John Pedersen's "Timeless"
"Timeless", released on July 1st, 2020, features a variety of contemporary instrumental tracks in styles ranging from ambient soundscapes to mellow electronica. With a few ballads added in for good measure, this project continues Mr. Pedersen's practice of composing songs in a plethora of eclectic idioms. Written and recorded during the Coronavirus pandemic, songs like, "Isolation", reflect a feeling of being out in the elements somewhere without ever losing hope. Indeed, the Native American flute seems to convey loneliness as it echoes above the wilderness, but the warm and compelling synthesizer "washes" evoke a great deal of optimism. The title track, "Timeless", is a gentle love song with a piano based accompaniment over which the lovely flute plays a memorable melody. "Gateway Blue" flirts with rock and roll while "333" is ensconced in modern electronic dance music (EDM). "Seventh Wave", is quite electric as well but in a 1980's type of way.
This album has been experiencing a great deal of attention on streaming sites like Spotify and Pandora. It has been downloaded quite frequently on iTunes and Amazon.com. In fact, in its first week of release, "Timeless", made Amazon's Top 100 New Age Albums Chart at #71. Visitor Count: 209,977
